A man accused in the 2017 double homicide of a Henderson County father and daughter has been indicted for capital murder.
Lance Rains, 25, of Chandler, is accused capital murder in connection with the deaths of Gabriel and Beverly McBride. He has now been indicted by a Henderson County Grand Jury, according to the Henderson County District Attorney.
On Dec. 10, 2018, Gabe McBride and his 17-year-old daughter, Beverly, were shot and killed in Henderson County. Their deaths led to a years-long cold case until Rains’ arrest in January 2026.

According to an arrest affidavit, in June 2024, Rains’ friend told a Henderson County investigator that Rains was responsible for the murders, providing a detailed account of how he committed both killings. CBS19’s full report on the arrest affidavit can be found here.
Rains currently resides in Henderson County jail on a $2 million bond.
