The popular late-night taco spot recently shared the news in an Instagram post, sharing a photo of Odenkirk smiling alongside the taqueria’s employees. Taqueria De Diez thanked Odenkirk for visiting and “breaking tacos” with the team as the owners explained how much they enjoyed hosting the actor during SXSW.

“Hosting Bob Odenkirk was a true highlight for our team—he couldn’t have been nicer,” Taqueria De Diez owners Raul and Luis Esquer told MySA. “He took the time to talk with our staff, happily posed for photos, and the whole place lit up as guests recognized him and started applauding.”

The brothers said the best part was that Odenkirk, “told us he loved the tacos so much, he came back two days in a row. We all love Bob.” Odenkirk attended this year’s SXSW conference on March 15 to premiere his new action-thriller film, Normal.

Taqueria De Diez is a Tijuana-style Mexican street taco restaurant serving up various al pastor, carne asada (steak) and pollo (chicken) variations in tacos, quesadillas and burritos. The taqueria, located in a downtown alleyway, has received high acclaim from foodies since opening in early 2024 and even recently announced a second location in the works

“Moments like these remind us why we do what we do—sharing great food, real flavors, and a little piece of our culture with everyone who walks through our doors,” Taqueria De Diez wrote about Odenkirk on Instagram.
