WOLFFORTH, Texas (KCBD) – On Wednesday, Frenship ISD was told that an elementary school teacher in its district was arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor.
According to FISD, 29-year-old Nicholas Alonzo taught at Upland Heights Elementary School. The district said it was made aware of concerning behavior involving Alonzo before spring break and placed him on leave.
Over the break, new allegations were made to the Lubbock Police Department.
Frenship ISD released the following statement:
“Frenship ISD takes these allegations very seriously, and our staff immediately began cooperating with police. Allegations such as these are unacceptable and our students’ safety is our top priority. We want our parents and community to know that he has been removed from the campus and will not be returning to Frenship.
We understand this is alarming and unsettling for our Frenship families. We have counselors and resources available for our students and staff. Since this is an active investigation and involves a minor, legally the district is limited in what can be released, and we will continue to cooperate fully with our local investigators.”
KCBD is working to learn more about Alonzo’s arrest.
This is a developing story.
