Fort Worth Christian blanks THESA

Gabby Bright scattered 2 hits over 7 innings and struck out 13 as Fort Worth Christian dumped Fort Worth THESA 6-0 in a non-district game at FWC on Monday.

Bright surpassed 100 strikeouts for the season in the win as the Cardinals improved to 17-3. Bright also led Fort Worth Christian (15-2) at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and a pair of runs batted in.

Elle Andujar added two rbi on a bases loaded single for FWC in the sixth that pushed the Cardinals lead to 4-0.

Faith Christian topples All Saints

Grapevine Faith Christian got 3 hits, including an inside-the-park home run, from Michaela Hamilton as the Lions downed Fort Worth All Saints 5-2 in a TAPPS Division II District 1 contest on Monday.

Michaela Hamilton, daughter of Texas Rangers legend Josh Hamilton, was also hit by a pitch, scored twice and stole 3 bases. Michaela Hamilton, who committed to Northwestern State University (Louisiana) last week, opened the scoring with her homer in the third.

Jocelyn Monroe was stellar on the mound for the Lions going all 7 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned with 14 strikeouts and 5 walks. Ainslee Dignan and Elle Powers both tripled for Faith Christian (13-3-1 overall, 1-0 district).

Heidi Peterson threw 6 innings for All Saints (9-6, 0-1) allowing 5 earned runs, 4 hits and striking out 13 while walking 2.

BASEBALLGrace Prep slips past Fort Worth Christian

Jay Buchanan lined a 2-out, rbi double to left in the top of the fifth to lift Arlington Grace Prep to a 4-3, non-district win over Fort Worth Christian on Tuesday.

Buchanan, a third baseman, went 3 for 3 in the game for Grace Prep (12-4-1). Blair Walker got the win on the mound for the Lions tossing 5 2/3 innings scattering 3 hits and allowing 2 unearned runs with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Walker went 1 for 3 at the plate and drove in a pair of runs with a triple to right in the third and scored later in the inning on a ground out to short to give the Lions a 3-1 lead.

Grady Emerson, a top-ranked MLB prospect and University of Texas commit, drove in all three runs for FWC (18-5-1) with an rbi single in the first and a bases-loaded, 2-run double to center in the fourth that tied the game 3-3.
