EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A new event aims to connect Borderland high school students with colleges across the country.

On Monday afternoon, the Ysleta Independent School District will host the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling’s Regional College Fair in El Paso.

According to the YISD, this is the first time this event will be held in El Paso.

The event is free and will allow students and families to meet representatives from more than 20 universities, including Arizona State University, New Mexico State University, Texas Tech University, Ohio State University, the University of Oregon, the University of British Columbia, the University of Michigan, the University of Iowa and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ysleta ISD Central Office atrium, located at 9600 Sims Drive, near I-10 and McRae Blvd. in East El Paso

Registration is not required, but students who register in advance HERE will receive a personalized barcode to use at the fair.

Organizers said students who pre-register will receive a follow-up email the next day with contact information and social media profiles for every college and representative they met.
