DICKSON, Tenn. – Top-10 finishes by East Texas A&M University men’s golfers Davis Seybert and Matt Walters highlighted the Lions’ seventh-place finish at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate this week at the Greystone Golf Club.

Seybert (Trinity – Midland) rose nine spots during Tuesday’s final round to join Walters (Ballito, South Africa) in the top 10. The duo had a score of 214 each in the three-round tournament, which was the final regular season competition for the Lions.

“A pair of top-10 finishes for Davis and Matt were solid performances this week.” said director of golf Brian Dolehide. “As a team we had a great second round and a bunch of birdies. Just a few too many mistakes that brought us down the leaderboard.”

The Lions finished with a team score of 874, which was a stroke back of Southeastern. Jacksonville State shot 11-under par as a team on Tuesday to take the team title by two strokes over UT Martin.

Cooper Watt (Rockford, Ill.) tied for 29th with a score of 221 (76-69-76), while Janis Erll (Lich, Germany) shot a score of 226 (8-71-75) to tie for 49th place, and Nicke Kaajavirta (Kajaani, Finland) tied for 59th with a score of 228 (82-70-76).
