An Italian fast-casual restaurant chain has opened its first San Antonio-area location.

Piada Italian Street Food opened March 25 inside the Schertz Station development at 18430 N. I-35, Ste. 100. According to previous reporting from Community Impact, several new restaurants have opened in the last six months within the shopping area, such as Smoothie King, Dave’s Hot Chicken, Cava and Chipotle.
Piada Italian Street Food specializes in piadas, which are Italian-style wrapped sandwiches, according to its website. The restaurant also offers chopped salads, customizable pasta bowls and more.

A second San Antonio-area Piada Italian Street Food location is being planned for the Huebner Oaks shopping area on the North Side of San Antonio, according to permits the business filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. No official opening dates have been announced as of publication time.
