If you haven’t already hit the road, you’ll want to get out the door quickly, as delays are impacting San Antonio drivers. A vehicle fire on Loop 410 has sparked a multi-lane closure, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Commuters are moving slowly along the westbound lanes of the highway after the incident happened at Palo Alto Road. The left shoulder and the left main lane are closed as a result. TxDOT confirmed the report at 7:06 a.m., classifying it as high severity on Transguide

Folks in the area are backed up to Moursund Boulevard, near Exit 46. Vehicles are moving between 4 and 33 mph, per the traffic monitoring site Sig Alert. The fire is under control; however, onlooker delays are still leading people to move slowly. SigAlert reports that fire crews are at the scene.

San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson Joe Arrington tells MySA the call came in at 6:48 am.

“Fire and EMS responded and one patient was transported priority 2 (non-life threatening injury or illness) with a reported potential leg injury,” he said via email.
