North Texas man sentenced to 50 years for decades of serial child abuse, officials say

John Greene, 53, of Frisco, Texas, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to the Collin County DA.

FRISCO, Texas — A 53-year-old North Texas man was sentenced to 50 years in prison after being convicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child he abused over a five-year period, according to the Collin County District Attorney’s Office.

Christopher John Greene was also sentenced to 20 years for indecency with a child by sexual contact and five years for possession of child pornography. By law, though, the sentences will be served concurrently, the DA said.

According to officials, Greene began sexually abusing the child when the victim was just 10 years old, which continued until the child was 15. Green knew the child through his relationship with the child’s family, the DA said.

The district attorney said the victim made an outcry in 2023, 17 years after the abuse ended, dating it back to 2006. The victim had disclosed the abuse to a counselor, which prompted a police investigation, according to the DA.

Frisco police interviewed the victim, who provided detailed accounts of the early 2000s abuse, which led to three other men coming forward, who all said Greene had abused them as children, too. Some of those outcries dated back to the 1980s, officials said.

Police arrested Greene and executed a search warrant at his home, where they seized a hard drive. A forensic detective found multiple images of child pornography on the hard drive, officials said.

Greene pled guilty in February to the charges against him and elected for the judge to determine his punishment. Judge Angela Tucker sentenced Greene to 50 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child, 20 years for indecency with a child by sexual contact, and five years for possession of child pornography, to be served concurrently.

“This sentence means a predator can no longer prey on the innocent, because for too long, the innocent have paid the price for his crimes,” said Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis after sentencing.
