Protesters across North Texas are expected to take to the streets Saturday in several local cities to participate in rallies for the No Kings protests.
The third round of demonstrations across the country and Texas are planned to express opposition to the Trump administration’s current policies, including immigration, elections, healthcare, education and the Iran war, according to the No Kings website.
It’s not known how many people will attend the upcoming weekend protests in North Texas cities including Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, Irving and Plano.
But the first of the No Kings protests occurred in June last year with millions participating in the nationwide movement. And thousands of people gathered across cities in Dallas-Fort Worth in the summer protests.
Political Points
October marked the second round of No Kings protests which drew over 3,000 people to downtown Dallas and more across the country.
Because of where the protests are scheduled to be held in each city, the events could lead to traffic delays for Saturday drivers. Motorist should anticipate delays.
The Associated Press reported President Donald Trump previously said he felt attendees were “not representative of the people of our country,” and insisted he is not a king. Trump has broadly defended his aggressive deportation campaign and blamed local officials for refusing to cooperate.
