Organizers say more than 3,100 cities are participating in demonstrations calling for political accountability.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A large-scale protest is planned this weekend in Corpus Christi as organizers say a growing global movement is calling for political accountability and community action.
In a Facebook post, the Indivisible Coastal Bend announced its fourth “No Kings” rally will take place Saturday, March 28, at Oleander Point at Cole Park, 1900 Ocean Dr, Corpus Christi, joining more than 3,100 cities worldwide that have reportedly registered similar events.
Organizers say the peaceful demonstration is meant to address concerns over rising costs, fear in communities, and what they describe as threats to democracy.
The rally is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature protest music led by The Twobadours, along with opportunities for attendees to sign the Fair Water Amendment petition for local voters.
Participants are encouraged to bring signs, water, and sun protection, and to wear yellow or blue to show unity. Organizers also say parking will be limited and are urging carpooling.
The event is open to the public and described as a nonviolent gathering. Volunteers, including photographers, are still being sought ahead of the rally.
