It has been seven months since the original Burger Boy was damaged by a fire that left the San Antonio restaurant out of commission. Since that blaze, the St. Mary’s Strip location has been making repairs that will soon pay off for customers who have been patiently waiting for its return.
On Tuesday, March 24, Burger Boy teased the grand reopening of its St. Mary’s location on social media, posting new photos of the restaurant, which appear to show the burger chain has wrapped up construction.
“Re-Grand opening date to be revealed VERY soon! We’re excited to announce that our original St. Mary’s location is right around the corner! Stay updated as we will announce all details regarding an opening date!” said the Facebook post from the local chain.
MySA has been following the location’s temporary closure since a fire struck the business in August 2025, when flames erupted in the kitchen and spread to the building’s attic. In December, Burger Boy stated that the St. Mary’s staple was on track to reopen in the first quarter of 2026.
We reached out to a representative for Burger Boy to inquire about a possible opening date, but we did not hear back at the time of writing. We will update this story as more information about the reopening is available.
