FORT WORTH – Maria Josefa Villegas, 56, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services: 5 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Josefa was born on March 30, 1969, in Plan del Sauz, Zacatecas, Mexico. She immigrated to the US with her husband where she started her family and finally settled in Fort Worth, Texas. She worked for a while but mostly dedicated her time to her children, family and eventually grandchildren. Besides caring for her family, she was known for her love of plants and gardening, but also her strong faith and love for the Lord. While her journey was not easy, her family finds comfort in knowing she is resting in the arms of the lord and no longer suffering. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Josefa was full of life and had a way of lighting up any room with her warm smile and presence. She was deeply loved and will continue to be cherished by many. Josefa is survived by her husband, Miguel Villegas; her children, Miguel JR, Milca, Miriam; her grandchildren, Jaison, Jahaziel, Noah, Levi, Briella; her parents, Francisco, Francisca Macias; and her siblings, Jose Luis, Edmundo, Bartolo, Samuel, and Florencio.
