Another UConn star could land with the Dallas Wings, who have the No.1 pick in the WNBA draft for a second consecutive season.
Nothing is confirmed yet, but UConn guard Azzi Fudd, a projected top pick, gave Wings fans hope that she could reunite with Paige Bueckers in Dallas.
Fudd, who won a national title alongside Bueckers in 2025 and is in Fort Worth this week for the NCAA Regionals, told reporters Thursday that “it’s been great to be down here.”
When asked if she could see herself landing in the area, Fudd responded with a smile: “I mean, maybe.”

Dallas finished 10-34 in 2025 and looks to build around Bueckers, last year’s No. 1 pick and WNBA Rookie of the Year.
The Bueckers-Fudd backcourt proved to be a winning combination during UConn’s 2025 campaign, and WNBA legend Diana Taurasi told NBC Sports this week that Fudd should be Dallas’ No. 1 pick.
“The synergy that she has with Paige on the court, they play great together,” Taurasi said.
Fudd is having a career year, averaging 17.8 points on 49.5% shooting, 2.6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Bueckers, who visited UConn’s practice on Wednesday, averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds during her rookie season with the Wings in 2025.
“When you get to the WNBA, if you have two guards that can pretty much do everything — defend, pass, shoot the three, get to the paint — then we’re talking about building championship DNA,” Taurasi said.
The Wings will make their pick on April 13.
