ANTHONY, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s office arrested 30-year-old Andrew Martinez after two men were stabbed late Wednesday night in Anthony, Texas.

On Wednesday at approximately 11 p.m., deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Anthony Police Department responded to the 500 block of Franklin Street in Anthony, Texas, for a reported stabbing.

Officers found two male victims, ages 43 and 75, who had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Both were treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

Investigators identified and located Martinez in the surrounding area, along with the weapon believed to have been used in the assault.

Martinez was taken into custody without incident and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault against a family member with a deadly weapon. He is being held with no bond.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing.

Anthony Police Chief Carlos Enriquez praised his officers’ quick response, saying, “The safety of our residents remains our top priority, and we appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation.”

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and no further information is being released at this time.
