Faced with a third and 20 to start the second quarter, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys offense couldn’t find anyone open and the ensuing punt would pin the Denver Broncos at their own 10 yard line for their next drive.

Bo Nix would misfire on a couple of open receivers. One was catchable, but Troy Franklin had the ball knocked out. They would go three-and-out and give the Cowboys solid field position at their own 41 yard line. It wouldn’t be long before they were inside the red zone. Another open tight end on a slant go the back down to the one yard line where they would punch it in on a Javonte Williams dive into the end zone.

Bo Nix and the Broncos offense picked up where they left off earlier in the game on their next drive. A good first down run by Dobbins and an intermediate completion to Troy Franklin for another first down, then Nix went deep to Marvin Mims Jr. who was tripped at the 16 yard line for a defensive pass interference call.

Then an Evan Engram screen go the ball down to the two yard line where RJ Harvey would take it in from the wild cat for his second touchdown of the game.

There would be a penalty on the Cowboys, so the Broncos decided to go for two from the one yard line where it would fail.

A quick three-and-out that had the drive end with a near interception by Jonathon Cooper on third and one would give the Broncos offense another chance to score before halftime with just over two minutes left in the second quarter.

After a short screen pass, Dobbins ripped off a 15-yard run just on the other side of the two minute warning to get the Broncos drive going. Nix would then find Courtland Sutton for the first time in the game on a 11-yard catch into field goal range.

Nix would find Dobbins over the middle on their next first down who sprinted to the sideline to stop the clock after a six yard gain. He would then find Engram for another first down on a short pass outside. Nix would then find rookie Pat Bryant open in the back of the end zone for his first touchdown of his career with just 39 seconds left in the half.

The half would come to an end with rookie Jahdae Barron leaping in front of a deep pass for the interception.
