AUSTIN, Texas — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in south Austin, and APD says that the crash investigation is delaying detectives from responding to the auto-pedestrian crash that currently has US 183 shut down in northwest Austin.

Police say that units responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash just after 3 a.m. in the 2600 block of Slaughter Lane.

APD says the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Westbound Slaughter Lane is currently shut down between Brasher Drive and Piping Rock Trail.
