On Thursday, March 26, Don Pedro Mexican Restaurant announced on social media that it will give complimentary meals to TSA staff and their families until further notice.

“During this time, we’re offering a complimentary meal to all TSA employees and their immediate families as a small way to say thank you for everything you do,” a Facebook post from the restaurant said. Some restrictions may apply and a valid TSA ID must be presented to redeem the free meal, according to the post.

Early Friday morning, March 27, the U.S. Senate approved funding that would finally pay TSA agents after a weeks-long standoff between political parties that resulted in nationwide travel disruptions, including long lines and ICE agents being sent to airports. Now, the House is mulling over whether to approve the Senate package that would fund agencies like TSA, FEMA and the Coast Guard.

MySA reached out to Don Pedro for further comment on the free meals for TSA agents, and we will update this story if and when we hear back from the restaurant.
