TULSA, Okla. (KOKH) — Authorities in Tulsa say a teenager was arrested after allegedly being caught with a gun on an Oklahoma school campus.
On Thursday, Tulsa Public Schools Police notified the Tulsa Police Department about a suspicious person trying to get into a building at Hale High School.
The suspicious person was reportedly wearing camouflage and carrying a large backpack as they jumped a fence onto the school grounds.
Within minutes, a school resource officer spotted the suspect and began a chase. At that point, a Tulsa police officer cut off the suspect in the middle school parking lot.
Investigators say the 15-year-old suspect had just burglarized a home in the area and stole a gun before going onto the school grounds. As he ran across the campus, he threw the gun into the grass.
