According to multiple reports, McMillan has agreed in principle to a new contract that includes both an extension and a market adjustment to his salary.

According to TexAgs’ Luke Evangelist, McMillan is expected to rise from being one of the lowest-paid coaches in the SEC to among the top 10 highest-paid in the conference and inside the top 30 in college basketball.
McMillan joined A&M with only one player on the roster after leaving Samford, where he spent five years with the Bulldogs. He finished with a 99-52 record, winning two regular-season championships, one conference tournament and making one NCAA Tournament appearance before joining the Aggies.
A&M finished McMillan’s first season tied for fourth in the SEC, finishing the year with a 22-12 record overall and an 11-7 mark in conference play. They earned a 10-seed in the NCAA Tournament, defeating seventh-seeded Saint Mary’s in the first round before losing to second-seeded Houston in the Round of 32.
