Three people were killed in a shooting Friday at Birdville Stadium in Haltom City, police officials wrote in a news release.

Officers were dispatched shortly before 4:30 p.m. to the stadium parking lot in the 6100 block of East Belknap after receiving reports of a shooting, the news release said.

More than a dozen police and emergency vehicles surrounded a U-Haul truck cordoned off with caution tape outside the stadium. Officers established a perimeter around the rental vehicle at the stadium, under overcast skies.

Three people were shot, including the shooter, according to the authorities. One person, the shooter, was found outside a vehicle, and two victims were found inside a car, police said. All three of them, two females and one male, died.

“We do not have reason to believe that the incident was related to Birdville Independent School District,” the release said. Police said this is believed to be an isolated incident.

Birdville ISD didn’t immediately return a request.
