SAN ANTONIO – Police say they shut down an illegal gambling operation on the city’s East Side, seizing dozens of slot machines in a bust the department called a “big win.”
On Friday, the San Antonio Police Department’s Fear-Free Environment (SAFFE) Unit said on Facebook that its East SAFFE team “successfully executed a major operation at the 4400 block of Rittiman Rd, shutting down an illegal gambling front and getting these machines off our streets.”
Police said 50 slot machines were seized and decommissioned, and that the illegal gambling operation was halted.
“This isn’t just about games, these unregulated rooms often bring unwanted activity to our neighborhoods,” the SAFFE Unit wrote, adding, “Huge shoutout to the officers who worked tirelessly to coordinate this bust. Your dedication to keeping the East Side safe is unmatched!”
