One person died after a “disturbance” in Deep Ellum Sunday afternoon.

Dallas police said they responded to an assist officer call in the 2900 block of Canton Street at about 1:40 p.m.

Additional officers were called to the scene, where one person was injured, police said. Dallas Fire-Rescue also responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital.

The victim later died from their injuries, Dallas police said.

Police said one person was taken into custody at the scene.

Police did not immediately publicly disclose the identity of the victim or the person taken into custody.

Police also did not say what led to the disturbance or provide a cause of death for the victim.
