HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a man was shot to death in southeast Houston on Friday, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to HPD, officers responded to the shooting at around 9:45 a.m. on 7880 Rockhill Street.

Authorities said that a 36-year-old victim was shot multiple times by the suspect, who was seen wearing dark clothing. The suspect later fled the scene on foot, traveling westbound.

Investigators believe that the victim ran and then collapsed in front of a home on the corner of Rockhill Street and Glen Valley Drive. The victim then got up and walked to a washateria, where he was eventually taken by an ambulance, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said that the motive behind the shooting is unknown at this time.
