The Dallas Stars announced a promotion for Rich Peverley on Friday.

The former NHLer has been named assistant general manager-player personnel.

“Rich’s promotion speaks to his impact on our organization and his hard work behind the scenes identifying, developing and working alongside our players,” Stars GM Jim Nill said in a statement. “He has been able to use his vast experience and knowledge from his NHL career to become an invaluable part of our hockey operations team over the last decade.”

Peverley, 43, is in his 11th season with the team after having spent his final NHL campaign in Dallas. He had previously been the club’s director of player personnel.

A native of Kingston, Ont., Peverley appeared in 442 NHL games across nine seasons with the Stars, Boston Bruins, Atlanta Thrashers and Nashville Predators from 2007 to 2014. For his career, he had 84 goals and 157 assists.

Peverley was a member of the Bruins team that won the Stanley Cup in 2011.
