A Bexar County jury gave a man life in prison for sexually abusing a child for several years.
Larry Botello, 60, was given life imprisonment without the possibility of parole after he was convicted of continuous sexual assault of a child and four counts of child indecency.
Botello was also sentenced to a combined 80 years for the child indecency charges.
State District Judge Kristina Escalona sentenced Botello on Thursday after a jury found him guilty and provided a verdict of life in prison.
According to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, Botello abused a child for four years from ages 8 to 12. He repeatedly subjected the child to abuse while he lived in the same home as the child’s family.
The abuse, which included sexual acts and inappropriate touching, happened at the home and in Botello’s vehicle.
The child came forward about the abuse, which led a second family member to report similar abuse.
