After hosting the first two round of the NCAA Tournament on its homecourt at Moody Center, the Longhorns will travel a few hours north for a Sweet 16 game in Fort Worth. At Dickies Arena on Saturday afternoon, Texas will meet Kentucky for the second time this season

Kentucky (20-10) tied for sixth place in the SEC under Kenny Brooks, who’s in his second season as head coach.  Its only losses since Feb. 1 have come against the very best teams in the conference: South Carolina (twice), Texas and Vanderbillt. The Wildcats have won eight straight against other teams since.

Texas (33-3) doesn’t really lose to anyone. The Longhorns last defeat came Feb. 12 at the hands of Vanderbilt, which earned an two seed in the tournament before being eliminated by Notre Dame.

This will be the second game between the UT and Kentucky this season.Texas won the first, 64-53. 

Cedric Golden, the American-Statesman columnist, predicted this matchup in his bracket. He’s picking Texas to beat Kentucky again.

Texas will face Kentucky 2 p.m. Saturday at Dickies Arena.
