Deadly single-vehicle crash reported on IH 10 in Pecos, Texas

PECOS, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – A 51-year-old man died in a single vehicle accident Friday morning along Interstate 10 Frontgate Road, mile marker 314.

According to the Texas DPS, Ranuel Pinero-Dieguez was driving a 2015 Freightliner with a trailer traveling westbound on IH 10. Pinero-Dieguz failed to maintain his lane, causing his vehicle to veer off the roadway into eastbound traffic and strike a fence.

Following striking the fence, the vehicle then became fully engulfed in flames. Pinero-Dieguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
