Kelvin Sampson plans to return as men’s basketball coach at the University of Houston for the 2026-27 season.
“My heat is still hot. I still burn for this,” Sampson said by phone Saturday. “I want another run at it. I want to chase it again.”
This past season, Sampson led the Cougars to a seventh straight Sweet 16 appearance, falling to Illinois in the regional semifinals.
He has three years left on his contract
