King hasn’t had much luck against Calallen recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Brahmas will square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. King has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday’s game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for King after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 18-6 to Robstown.

Jordan Villarreal was cooking despite his team’s loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for King: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamicah Garza, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Calallen waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins… but they left with eight. They never let the Warriors & Cherokees get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.

Collier Carroll tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn’t given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Reese Rusher was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Blake Quinn was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Calallen’s record is now 20-2. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Tuesday’s matchup will be a test for both teams’ pitchers. King hasn’t had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it’s not like Calallen struggles in that department as they’ve averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

King might still be hurting after the 26-0 loss they got from Calallen when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Brahmas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll find out soon enough.
