After Virginia took a 1-point lead into halftime, TCU took over the game by outscoring the Cavaliers in the third quarter, 24-11, and did not look back in the final Sweet 16 game.
Marta Suarez led all scorers with 33 points and added 10 rebounds, while Olivia Miles nearly recorded a triple-double in the second half alone and finished with 28 points.
TCU will play Dawn Staley and the top-seeded South Carolina Gamecocks on Monday for a spot in the Final Four.
With no. 10 seed Virginia’s departure from the bracket, Notre Dame is the only team remaining seeded lower than a three seed.
