SAN ANTONIO — An officer’s vehicle was struck by gunfire while directing traffic near the city’s Northeast Side.

The incident occurred Saturday night around 8:24 p.m. near I-35 North and Walzem Road. According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the officer, who was assisting with traffic control in his personal vehicle equipped with emergency lights, heard a loud noise while positioned on the highway. Upon exiting the vehicle, the officer claimed to discover that it had been hit by apparent gunfire.

Authorities confirmed no injuries were reported at the scene. No suspect or vehicle description has been released, and no arrests have been made.
