Colorado Springs police saw a fatal “speed contest” and death threats last week, among other incidents, with law enforcement making 320 arrests in El Paso County.

From March 22 to 28, the Colorado Springs Police Department posted seven blotter entries to its public database of incidents approved for release. Here is a recap of those entries:

On Sunday, March 22, an uninvolved driver died when a car engaging in a speed contest struck them head-on while driving on Briargate Boulevard near Lexington Drive. No arrests were announced and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.

On Tuesday, father and son Erick and Alex Muller were arrested after a neighbor reported the pair were caught on camera vandalizing their house, following a history of issues, including allegedly threatening the victim’s grandchild’s life. When police initially contacted the Mullers, they were aggressive and “repeatedly told officers to take out their guns and shoot themselves in the mouth, and do the world a favor.” After search and arrest warrants were obtained, both suspects were taken into custody.

On Wednesday, two officers spotted a man, Tyler Olson, with outstanding felony warrants, walking in America the Beautiful Park with a limping dog. When one of the officers restrained Olson to take him into custody, his dog bit the officer twice. The dog was taken to the Humane Society and the officer was cleared to return to work after being taken to a hospital.

On Saturday, police posted an entry asking for the community’s help in finding a 20-year-old man, Jonathan Stephens, who was last seen near Peterson Space Force Base Saturday evening. Stephens was last seen wearing a white button shirt and black jeans, and wears eyeglasses. Police say he has a mental health condition that causes a concern for his safety.
