Irving Police say the incident happened at 2:17 a.m. and involved two cars and a pedestrian.
IRVING, Texas — One person is dead after an auto-pedestrian accident involving two cars happened Sunday morning, according to Irving Police.Â
Police say it happened at 2:17 a.m. in the Eastbound lanes of SH 183.Â
Officials say two cars were headed east in the right lane of 183, at the same time a pedestrian was walking in the roadway at the same location.Â
The driver of one car didn’t notice the pedestrian in the roadway and ended up hitting them, police say.Â
Officials say the driver came to an immediate stop following the accident and was subsequently hit from the rear by the second vehicle.Â
Police say the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.Â
Irving Police say there is no evidence of intoxication or excessive speed by either driver, and there are no pending criminal charges.Â
The Dallas County Medical Examiner will identify the deceased pending next of kin notification.Â
