Calallen has gone a perfect 10-0 against King recently and they’ll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will host the Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calallen has eight straight victories, King has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you’re on the field.

Calallen barely beat Tuloso-Midway the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn’t the case this time around. The Wildcats’ pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors & Cherokees an 8-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday’s blowout was nothing new.

Collier Carroll tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn’t given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Reese Rusher was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Blake Quinn, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, King started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Robstown. They lost 18-6 to the Cottonpickers on Friday.

Jordan Villarreal was cooking despite his team’s loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of King’s success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 7-10 when he doesn’t). The team also got some help courtesy of Jamicah Garza, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

King’s defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Calallen, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.

Tuesday’s contest will be a test for both teams’ pitchers. Calallen hasn’t had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. However, it’s not like King struggles in that department as they’ve averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Calallen got the ‘W’ when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against King by a conclusive 26-0 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brahmas turn the tables on them? We’ll have the answer soon enough.
