DALLAS — Lucy Gibson’s big night was enough to lift Dallas to a Wyoming Valley Conference victory.

Gibson scored twice in the second half as the Mountaineers got past Hazleton Area, 4-1, on Monday in Division 1 girls soccer play.

Gracie Coyne and Macie Stauffer also scored for the Mountaineers, while Ruby Meyers had the lone Cougar goal.

Paige Banks stopped six shots in the victory.

Addison Corchado had three goals for Wilkes-Barre Area.

Lake-Lehman 2, Wyoming Seminary 1: At Lake-Lehman, Kolby Shook scored two unassisted second-half goals, and Lake-Lehman made them hold up in a victory over Wyoming Seminary on Monday in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 boys soccer.

Shook’s first goal came at 38:57, and he followed it up with another at 32:16. Wyoming Seminary’s Artur Zelenko scored on a penalty kick to cut the deficit in half.

Mylee Retherford recorded a hat trick for Benton.

Girls volleyball

Wyoming Area 3, Hanover Area 0: At Hanover Area, Taylor Gashi had 12 kills, nine digs and three aces, and Kenzie Galenty had 10 digs and three aces to lead Wyoming Area to a sweep of Hanover Area, 25-13, 25-22, 25-8.

Josie Kivak had nine digs and seven aces for Wyoming Area, while Chyenne Stevenson had eight kills and one dig. Addy Byers had five aces and four digs. Madelyn Smith had 12 assists and four digs.
