A Texas-born restaurant is following the footsteps of others in recent years, opening its newest location in Arizona. Il Bracco, which started in Dallas and also has a brick-and-mortar in Houston, is launching its third outpost in popular Scottsdale.

“Il Bracco Scottsale opens March 30,” read a March 20 post on il Bracco’s Instagram. The accompanying photo gallery showed details of the new restaurant’s interior, focusing on curved lights and art pieces. The Scottsdale location from the hospitality group Western Addition has been public for some time, first revealed in mid-2024.

Western Addition birthed il Bracco in 2019 in Dallas. Quick, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, teamed up to form Western Addition with Matt Gottlieb back then, and il Bracco swiftly became a favorite up in the DFW metroplex for its slightly more refined take on Italian cuisine.

In 2022, Western Addition expanded il Bracco to Houston, settling into an outdoor shopping center near the Galleria. Il Bracco specializes in house-made pasta and breads, plus a deep wine list and cocktails.

The Arizona expansion of Il Bracco is yet another instance of a Texas chain deciding to head west to the Valley of the Sun. Last year, Houston-born restaurant Perry’s Steakhouse & Grill announced a new location in Gilbert, part of the Phoenix metro area.

The feeling seems to be mutual between Arizona and Texas, since multiple restaurant chains from the west have made their way to the Lone Star State. Among them is Steak 48, which started in Phoenix and in 2016 made a beeline for Houston’s River Oaks to plenty of success. Another concept, Buck & Rider from Hi Noon Hospitality in Phoenix, announced earlier this year that it would have a Houston location, also in the Galleria area.
