Lubbock police arrest man on aggravated assault charge in investigation involving injured infant

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock police say a man is in custody following an investigation involving an injured infant.

Just before midnight on Thursday, March 26, police were called to Covenant Women’s and Children’s for reports of an infant arriving with injuries.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Zacharias Johnson for aggravated assault against a family member causing serious bodily injury. The type of injuries the infant suffered are unknown at this time.

The warrant was served to Johnson Friday while he was in the Lubbock County Detention Center where he was already booked on a separate warrant arrest.

Johnson is being held on a $250,000 bond.
