After a road defeat against No. 14 Kansas, No. 10 TCU had its lengthy home winning streak snapped on Saturday evening, when the Horned Frogs fell to No. 17 BYU in four sets. Outside hitters Evan Hendrix (16 kills, 9 digs, .225 hitting percentage) and Becca Kelley (13 kills, 6 digs, .267 hitting percentage) led the offense, but TCU lost to the Cougars 21-25, 19-25, 25-19, 23-25. Ella Foti posted a double-double from the setter position, dishing out 27 assists and 10 digs in the loss. TCU (16-5, 6-3 Big 12) will resume Big 12 play at Arizona State on Wednesday.
Rosemary Archer chipped in 10 assists and Alice Volpe led the back-row defense with 12 digs for the Horned Frogs, who’ve suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season. Sarah Sylvester and Alexis Roberson combined for 11 blocks from the middle to lead TCU’s front-row defense in the loss. Lauren Murphy collected seven kills, seven blocks and eight digs on the front line. The Horned Frogs struggled from the service line, finishing with seven service errors while posting just two aces. TCU hit .207 as a team in the loss.
