Texas drivers are starting the workweek with gas prices up slightly Monday to an average of $3.61 a gallon, with some counties in Big Bend Country already paying over $4, according to AAA.

In Fort Worth and Arlington, regular gasoline is holding around $3.59 per gallon, down from $3.69 a week earlier. Regular gas is nearly $1 more expensive than one month ago.

Drivers who require premium-grade gasoline are paying an average of $4.45 per gallon in Fort Worth. Diesel fuel is nearing $5 — as of Monday, average prices were $4.96, up from $4.94 on Sunday.

Nationally, gas is averaging $3.99 per gallon.
