Valerie Sanchez Named SCAC Singles Player of the Week

SUWANEE, Georgia – Concordia Texas women’s tennis player Valerie Sanchez has been named the SCAC Singles Player of the Week, the league’s office announced on Monday. Sanchez went a perfect 2-0 at No. 2 singles to help lead Concordia Texas to a 2-0 weekend in SCAC play.

She earned a straight-set win (6-3, 6-2) over Ella Mullins of St. Thomas before following it up with another dominant performance in a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Maddie Nichol of LeTourneau. Sanchez controlled both matches from start to finish, playing a key role in the Tornados’ conference success.

You can next see Sanchez and Concordia Texas in action this Friday, April 2nd when they host McMurry University. First serve is scheduled for 2pm.
