Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish appointed to U.S. Supreme Court bar

  • March 31, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish can now argue cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Chief Justice John Roberts affirmed Parrish’s appointment to the Supreme Court bar. It’s an elite group of constitutional attorneys who debate cases focused on the powers and limitations of all levels of government.

Two years after his initial application, Parrish appeared before all nine justices on the bench Monday morning.

He said it’s important for Lubbock County to have someone well-versed in the cases, decisions and procedures handed down from the high court.

“The county and our law enforcement agencies and how we deal with anybody literally out on the street,” Parrish said. “Even things as simple as our workers and worker’s compensation and our employees are all based under U.S. constitutional law.”

Parrish’s legal background is in estate law, probates and guardianships. In the event a case involving Lubbock County goes before the highest court in the land, Parrish said he would have one part among many in representing it.
