HOUSTON, Texas (KLTV) – Former NFL running back and Palestine native Adrian Peterson was arrested in Houston on Sunday morning, according to Sugar Land police.
Authorities confirmed Peterson was taken into custody on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Police said the investigation remains active and could not provide additional details about the incident at this time.
This marks the second time this year Peterson has faced a DWI charge after he was previously arrested in Minnesota in April.
Peterson, a standout at Palestine High School and the University of Oklahoma, went on to have a Hall of Fame-caliber career in the NFL, most notably with the Minnesota Vikings.
