All eyes were on the Denver Broncos after their historic fourth quarter comeback win last week against the New York Giants. They scored all 33 of their points in that final quarter to win that game. This week against the Dallas Cowboys? They scored in every quarter instead on their way to a 44-24 win to move to 6-2 on the season.

It was nice to watch a game where the Broncos played good offensive football from start to finish. They will hit the road next week to take on the Houston Texans. In a strong AFC West, they will need to keep winning.

Things began with disaster for the Broncos early on their first drive with a pretty bad throw by Bo Nix that was intercepted. The Cowboys would then convert that drive into the first points of the game. However, that seemed to light a fire under Nix and the offense as they would explode in offense over their next two drives.

The first was capped by a 40-yard scamper by RJ Harvey to put Denver on the board.

Then after forcing a three-and-out, Nix would find Pat Bryant on a sizable gain. JK Dobbins would also get involved with a 21-yard run of his own. Nix would then find Troy Franklin wide open in the end zone for another Broncos’ touchdown in the first quarter.

It was an impressive turnaround after a poor start for Denver. They would take a two-score lead into the second quarter.

That momentum continued into the second quarter. After a brief hiccup where the Cowboys drove down the field to put up their first touchdown of the game behind a Javonte Williams one-yard dive.

Nix and the offense woke up again that was setup by a deep ball to Marvin Mims Jr. who was tripped on the route and the Cowboys earned a defensive pass interference call. RJ Harvey would line up in the wildcat and run it in from one yard out a few plays later.

They’d get the ball right back after a three-and-out by the Cowboys. Nix would dink and dunk his way down the field on this drive, but once they reached the Cowboys 24 he took his shot to rookie Pat Bryant who hauled in his first career touchdown pass to put the Broncos up big late in the half.

The rookies were not done there either as cornerback Jahdae Baron leaped in front of a Dak Prescott deep shot down the field for his first career interception. That turnover would send the game into halftime.

Broncos 27, Cowboys 10. Full second quarter recap.

After a strong opening touchdown drive by the Cowboys, the Broncos responded with a drive of their own thanks to a big kick return by Marvin Mims Jr.

Nix then found Courtland Sutton wide open in the end zone for an apparent touchdown, but Adam Trautman was called for offensive pass interference on a pick play. However, Nix went right back to Sutton who was open on a deep slant in the end zone but the veteran wide receiver couldn’t come up with the catch in an ugly drop.

They would settle for the field goal instead.

Broncos 30, Cowboys 17. Full third quarter recap.

To begin the quarter, Nix went deep to Sutton for a 39 yard gain to the Cowboys 21-yard line. Three plays later, Nix hit Evan Engram over the middle for a 10 yard gain on third and ten to keep the drive alive.

After a four yard run by Dobbins on first down, Nix rolled out to try to his Nate Adkins who just missed the catch. On third and six, Nix found Troy Franklin wide open in the back of the end zone for another touchdown to put Denver up by 20.

The Broncos defense decided they’d had enough of Dak Prescott finding open receivers. Zach Allen sacked him and then Riley Moss batted a ball away to force a third and long. However, with no Pat Surtain II, the open receiver continued to be George Pickens on Kris Abrams-Draine who made a huge first down reception. Then the penalties began piling in again on Denver with a roughing the passer penalty giving them the ball inside the 20 yard line.

On the very next play, Prescott threw it over the middle to CeeDee Lamb who wasn’t looking where Dondrea Tillman intercepted it and returned it 38 yards.

Denver would turn that interception into a third RJ Harvey touchdown who caught the ball wide open in the flat for the touchdown.

The blow out was on in the Mile High City. Dak Prescott took the bench from that touchdown as the Cowboys mailed it in with over half the fourth quarter left.
