SAN ANTONIO – San Fernando Cathedral will be holding its annual re-enactment of Passion of the Christ.

The preview of the re-enactment will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March, 31 at San Fernando Cathedral and will be bilingual.

A ecumenical prayer service will kick off the event on Good Friday, April 3, at 9:30 a.m. at Travis Park. Following the service, the re-enactment of the Passion of the Christ starts at 10 a.m. in Spanish.

At noon, the crucifixion will be observed in Spanish in front of the San Fernando Cathedral. This is followed at 1 p.m. by Las Siete Palabras, or the Seven Last Words of Christ and will be led by Archbishop Gustavo.

The Celebration of the Lord’s Passion being at 3 p.m. inside the cathedral.

From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., reconciliation and confessions will be held at Café de la Cruz.

The day will conclude at 7 p.m. with El Pésame a la Virgen María, the Vigil of the Sorrowful Mother.

This will be followed by Reconciliation and Easter Vigil Service on Holy Saturday (April 4) as well as Easter Sunday Mass on April 5th.
