SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is trying to figure out who killed a person who was found burning in a ditch on the Southeast Side over the weekend.
Detectives say the body was that of a man, and it was found in a ditch after a family nearby called in what they thought was a grass fire. The body was wrapped up in various materials and the hands were bound.
According to reports, the fire damaged the body significantly, and identification by the Bexar County Medical Examiner could take some time.
Witnesses called in the fire around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, but it was not known that a body was on fire until the San Antonio Fire Department arrived on the scene. From there, homicide detectives began asking questions to witnesses in the area of Rigsby Avenue and Roland Road.
There is no word on any suspects.
