After nine consecutive wins and a three-game sweep over Iowa State, Texas Tech softball (34-2, 11-1 Big 12) is still ranked the No. 2 team in the nation in Softball America poll released Monday morning.
With a record of 31-2, the Texas Longhorns remain one spot above the Red Raiders despite a 9-7 loss to Texas A&M Sunday.
The rest of the top five:
Oklahoma (34-3), 4. Alabama (33-2), and 5. Nebraska (26-6).
Other Big 12 schools:
Arizona (27-8), 21. UCF (28-10), 22. Arizona State (28-9), and 23. Oklahoma State (25-10).
The Red Raiders return to the diamond Tuesday evening for a road contest with Abilene Christian. First pitch set for 5 p.m. This weekend, they will host BYU in a three-game series beginning Thursday.
Also on Monday morning, Tech softball added a road game at Texas State slated for Wednesday, April 15 at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos.
