SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Fire Department is investigating after a home was destroyed by fire Tuesday morning.
Crews were called around 4:30 a.m., and upon arrival they were met by flames and smoke at a house in the 8500 block of Sweet Maiden Drive, not far from Old Pearsall Road. A total of 16 units arrived to knock down the fire, but the house was destroyed.
Investigators were told a candle near a window started the fire when a curtain caught fire and things got out of control.
According to SAFD, the family had been living in the home for three years.
Three children also lived in the home, and the family has been connected with the Red Cross for relief.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
