5-year-old drowns in neighbor’s pool

Harris County, Texas — A 5-year-old child tragically drowned in a neighbor’s pool Monday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The tragic incident happened just before 12:30 p.m. at a house off Nancy Rose Street on Houston’s East Side.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the child the left house unattended. Deputies immediately began a search for the child, even deploying a drone to help in the search. They found the child unresponsive in the neighbor’s pool.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
