Plano East’s baseball team is looking to turn things around after dropping two games last week to McKinney Boyd.
Xavien Salas tied the score at 1-1 with an RBI single in the bottom of the first, but the Broncos took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second before increasing their advantage to 5-1 after an RBI hit in the fourth.
Tristan Parker and Tyler Lubow each had two hits for the Panthers (4-4 in district).
After starting the second half of District 6-6A play with a walk-off victory over Princeton, Plano East’s softball teams dropped its next two outings, falling 4-2 to Plano West and 7-3 versus Prosper last Friday.
Plano East jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning following a bases-loaded walk by La’Courtnia Butler and an RBI ground-out by Jayla Taggart, but the Lady Panthers (5-6 in 6-6A) couldn’t manufacture another run over the game’s final six innings.
The Lady Wolves tied the score at 2-2 on a Brooke Reasoner two-run double in the first before taking the lead for good with an RBI single in the third.
Gina Martin and Kayleigh Miller tallied two hits each in Plano East’s loss to Prosper.
